GYBE is the only band that I am still hoping to see live one day. Maybe the dream will finally come true.

this is sort of off topic, but how can GYBE or any similar band be interesting in concert? seems like it would be a lot of standing around while nothing much happens. I guess you just have to "be there", but it doesn't sound like much fun to me. sure those few minutes of crescendo will be cool, but the build up must be boooooring. and monotonous.

Keep in mind though that they also sometimes show video or project images in the backgr0und. I could see some of the songs dragging by if they were off Yanqui U.X.O. but everything else is pretty enveloping.

they do indeed have films projected in the back/ground .. actually multiple at the same time in many cases.

the gybe (smaller group) in the studio word has been out there for about a month now.

even if they toured as a smaller unit, i'd still be very interested in seeing them again.

i am glad to have seen them 7 times last tour.

I'm gonna have to agree with you.

At the show I saw a few years ago, the projections were minimal. You were just standing around in a dark room, it was really odd.

no because they'd still suck then, too

i saw them on tour a few years back and they blew my mind. this sounds really stupid but i remember thinking about how they were actually going to implode on stage and that i was going to have to explain to the police why there were bits of dead musicians all over the venue. the drummers also took a triangle (i think) and a drum through the audience, which was pretty neat. I believe the projections were pretty minimal. it didn't feel awkward to me at all.
