interesting postulation. I can see him becoming the next GL but I think it depends on how King Kong does.

He's turning into Jack Black.

He'll never be the next George Lucas. He'd never do a 'Howard The Duck".

King Kong will never do as remotely well as Star Wars.

I think its one of those things thats exclusively for die hard fans of filmaking and/or Peter Jackson. I'll admit that watching the additional features on my lord of the rings extended editions is an amazing thing to see and watching what he does and the process thats involved isn't boring. I think if you're an aspiring film maker, then its definetely worth the money. It's funny, its not everyday you see what would be additional extras to a film on DVD get centre stage with no actual film attached! :D

I think the argument is about LOTR being compared to Star Wars. Not even the newest movies but the original trilogy. And in terms of quality / popularity, I think the analogy is quite justified.

But as has been pointed out, I think Jackson lacks Lucas' goofy edge

Um...no? Have you ever seen Bad Taste?

Jackson has lost a heap of fat since LOTR. You seen the pics of him when he was in his teens? He's back to that weight by the looks of it. One hell of a diet.

And who are the dorks in that photo with him.... looks like they're on the set of a bad musical having a gay ol' time.
