a most excellent show!

set (mostly correct):
My Doorbell [The White Stripes]
I Love Rock N' Roll [Joan Jett]
Gravity
Missed Me
Coin-Operated Boy
Port Of Amsterdam [Jacques Brel]
Bad Habit
A Night At The Roses
Mrs. O
The Perfect Fit
Half Jack
Girl Anachronism
---
Hallelujah [Leonard Cohen/Jeff Buckley/Rufus Wainwright]
Good Day
Truce

They came out dressed as the white stripes and played My Doorbell....after a costume change they went into I Love Rock N' Roll....then into Gravity, which was HOT. Brian broke something during Gravity, so there was a five minute delay, Amanda was about to bring a fan on stage to sing Such Great Heights, but then Brian fixed his kit just then. Of course, something else broke during the start of Missed Me, so amanda went into a sonata of some sort. Coin Operated Boy, Port Of Amsterdam and Bad Habit were on fire of course (two minute pause in the middle of Coin-Operated Boy where everyone just froze. Amanda talked about how they had just put out their first vinyl, and how the next song would be the B-side (A Night At The Roses). Then Mrs. O, Perfect Fit, 10 minute version of Half Jack, Girl Anachronism. For the encore, Amanda played a beautiful solo version of Hallelujah, then into Good Day and Truce. Close curtain.

Highlight of the evening---

That little German guy: 'Should I tell her about my true self, or should I bottle in my feelings?'

85% of the audience: 'HOLD IT IN!'

Just listening to their cd is kinda boring, but they were AMAZING opening for NIN. Their cover of war pigs is metal, and the drummer guy is brutal.

hey translucent, you say nothing about mr. Jonas and Dennis (?), if I got their names right. I understood they (DD) are taking this circus with them for the whole tour.
The Toronto show was wow. Have you seen that segment with those two guys spinning inside those rims ?

i was bored after the first 4 songs.

and the crowd sucked.

and covering a leonard cohen song takes balls. and she didn't do a horrible job. so, uh, yeah, go her. but still.

It really was. I had a great time and I'll definitely go see them again when I get the chance. The second band, Devotchka (sp?) were really good too. I'm not too crazy about circus acts, in general, but I liked the whole evening so much it didn't matter.

And yeah, I think I've had Coin-Operated Boy in my head for the past week almost :)
