well, barring what smashingjj said, all I found was Victor Wooten, Pink Floyd, and some other band I've never heard of. I haven't listened to Wooten and I got nothing against Pink Floyd, but really you seem to strut what you LIKE a lot less than what you DISLIKE.

that said, even though all I talk about here is "new wave indie crap," that doesn't mean I don't like other stuff. it just isn't as relevant because it's not new. I just like to talk about new stuff.

I mean, it's Netphoria

instead of LZ2, I suggest getting their live album they released a year ago. I found it an excellent introduction, because barring a couple of their latter-day hits (specifically Kashmir and Achilles Last Stand), it has everything one should know by them, and their live sound is so much more intense from their studio sound. the album is called How the West Was Won. It's a 3 disc trip but it's well worth it.

Nick Cave's compositional skills are amazing, and a lot of his lyrics are pretty incredible. I don't listen to him much, but when I do I always enjoy it. And he puts on a fucking awesome live show if you ever get the chance to go.
