this board is slow right now, so why not give everyone a chance to make fun of the fact i listen to coheed and cambria...and blood brothers, if you're so inclined.
Coheed and Cambria played a 3-song acoustic set down the street from my apartment for the local radio station's "Kegs and Eggs" in the morning. It's this thing where a band in town play a few songs while people drink free beer and eat breakfast and shit.
Before the show in Lawrence, I was walking to the venue and some guy was showing the lead singer of Coheed around the town and I stopped to thank him for playing earlier in KCMO. He was nice, but I didn't talk long; just a thank you and a pat on the shoulder.
Anyway, the show was one of my favorites I've been to.
The first band was mewithoutyou. I missed some of their set because I was outside talking to Brena, but hey weren't that good. They were entertaining, though.
The second band was Dredg. I had heard alot about them and was hoping for something good...No. I thought they were awful, but entertaining in an awful way.
THE BLOOD BROTHERS ruled, of course. This was my 2nd and a half time seeing them and they didn't dissapoint. It was hilarious to watch all the people there for CoCa have this look on their faces like, "wtf?" when they played. AHAHAHA. It was awesome, though, and the crowd below us were going crazy.
Coheed and Cambria took about half an hour to set up and they pretty much ruled. Very heavy. Claudio had one of those double guitars for the first two songs and my ears were shredded. But the crowd was excellent and the singalongs were great. Two people got into a fight in the mosh pit. It was funny from the balcony.
