i think that the new animal collective record is going to be really big and all the dorky pitchfork pop boys with messy hair and messenger bags who go to nyu are going to hail them as the best band ever.

because the album is really good.

the chorus (or whatever) to "Grass" really get to me for some reason, in a bad way. I am cringing the whole song in anticipation for the screaming.

I saw them for $8 last year at the echo.
I'm seeing them in November for $17 at El Rey.

They're gonna be the next Radiohead!

hasn't pitchfork been freaking out over animal collective for years?

the first time i heard animal collective was from pitchfork, actually. i downloaded 'slippi' from their free downloads section and i loved it. then like a year later sung tongs came out.

i dont really care what pitchfork says about anything.
i just like their downloads and news.

Eh, they're ok. I can only listen to them sometimes. The Vashti Bunyan EP is good. Though not near as good as Vashti's 2 albums. But that's a different thread.....

what does that have to do with being uneducated?

more education = more refined taste.

the members of sonic youth have, like, the most refined taste in art ever.

if more people pick up on the Animal Collective, good. they never tour here anyway so it's not like i care if their shows get huge. the more people listening to good music, the better.

and entertainment weekly put Feels in their 20 albums to check out this fall feature or something like that. that's pretty cool, and funny.
