<i><b>'Laguna Beach' Star Talan Torriero Prepping An Album

"I'm doing an album, which is very exciting," "Laguna Beach" heartthrob Talan Torriero told

"Music is pushing boundaries, and I figure I better do my part. I'd like to get a rapper on a rock song or something crazy like that." — Talan Torriero

Torriero, along with several of his fellow "Laguna Beach" cast members, was there to support fellow resident and pal Stephen Colleti, who was featured in the magazine's spread of Hollywood up-and-comers.

He and Colleti are just two of the breakout stars from the MTV reality series, which follows the lives of a group of young, beautiful and privileged teens during their last years of high school in the real Orange County.

"I'm supposed to be [discreet] about it, so I can't tell you what label I'm with, but it's a really big label push," said Torriero, who was sporting longer, darker locks to go hand-in-hand with his new rock-star image.

The 18-year-old cites My Chemical Romance and Green Day as his musical inspirations and says his album, which could drop as early as June, will have a "Mars Volta kind of feel." Expect some surprises as well, Torriero adds. He's even learning how to tickle the ivories for one of the songs.

"I like turning heads. I don't like to do the normal thing," he said.

As far as producers, Torriero would like to recruit Paris Hilton's current beatmakers Scott Storch (see "Scott Storch Says He And Paris Are Making 'Amazing' Music") and Robb Boldt, who recorded the heiress' Internet-leaked track "Screwed."

"I'd like to work with Scott just because he's never done rock and I think it would be really interesting to see what he can do," he said. "Music is pushing boundaries, and I figure I'd better do my part. I'd like to get a rapper on a rock song or something crazy like that."

The budding rocker has already hit the studio with Akon, with more collaborations on the way. "It's pretty exciting. There'll be a lot of guest spots," he divulged.

Torriero is also trying to use his newfound fame to win acting roles.

"I've been acting since I was young, so the show has kind of [put my face out there]," he said. "Now I get to take what I'm doing and what skills I have and use it to my advantage."

The teenager has already signed with United Talent Agency and has been in talks for a couple of big-screen gigs, including a potential horror flick with former WWF wrestler Diamond Dallas Page, who co-starred in the Rob Zombie-helmed gore-fest "The Devil's Rejects." </i>

In total honesty, his music will probably suck less than the Mars Volta's.
