You could scan the cover of the cd. If the scan quality is high enough, you can make it as big as you want.

No need to scan a poster. How would you do that in the first place? I don't think many people have scanners that are big enough for posters.

you use a program that stiches the smallers pics into one big picture.

I'm sure there are programs out there that would automate the process somewhat, but yeah, it's pretty easy in Photoshop. Just make as many scans of your object as necessary to cover the whole thing, with an inch or two of overlap in each of the scans. Then start a new file in Photoshop set to the size of the object, and paste each of your scans into that file on separate layers. Move 'em around until they line up perfectly--this is where having overlapping areas of the scans helps, as you can make one layer a little transparent to see that it exactly matches the layer underneath. Flatten the layers when you're done.

Click the lower right corner area to enlarge the pic...it's pretty big, so you'll have to save it, crop it, and scale it down.

Yeah there is a way to do it with photshop, somthing like you make the images into masks then move them around and tweak them until they line up perfectly.

But why should I explain it when Burt Monroy can do it way better then I can.

Thanks.

Doesn't look easy though.

It's a lot harder to explain than it is to do. Play around with it; it'll make sense once you're moving the layers around.
