I'm aware that the majority of the song is in 4/4.. but the breakdown section (after the massive snare roll) is throwing me off. I have 3 variations, it could be 7/4, 15/8, or 9/4.
Any thoughts on this? Anyone know what it is?

Yep.. i am.. the if it's in 4/4, then the drum pattern is playing some kind of hemiola over it, so i get a little lost. What are you following to get 4/4?? I'm listening to the live performance available on his website right now btw..

you're all wrong....what drummers you are!
it's 6/8 just like glass and the ghost children...in fact, it's almost the same tempo as live versions of that song.
again, it is not 4/4. 4/4 is a straight rhythm kind of like on shame, in its simplest form.
ggggg unit.

Are you talking about the song in general? Because it sounds more like 8/8, which is closer to 4/4 than 6/8 is you crackmonkey

Ok, i figured it out.
Massive snare roll, that long snare roll jimmers does before the breakdown/rockin tom section.
The rest of the song is in 4/4.. the breakdown section is in 4/4 as well but is patterned around a bar of 6/8, another bar of 6/8, then a bar of 4/8.. if you count out all the 8th notes, it just becomes 4/4. They are using hemiola here.. it's pretty cool.

bullshit. that's like saying the drum intro to love will tear us apart is a bar of 3/8 another bar of 3/8 and then a bar of 2/8. accents is the word you need to know.
