So I was trying to download some stuff off torrent spy and I have a Mac. I can download it, but it says it doesn't have an application selected to open the file. Can anybody out there help me out with advice on what to do?

What you probably need is some kind of bit torrent client, I'm not sure what ones are good for mac.

I use Tomato Torrent (http://www.sarwat.net/bittorrent/), but there's also Bits on Wheels (http://www.bitsonwheels.com/), Azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/), and the official client. (http://bittorrent.com/)
