you can paint your drink orders on easels
murgle 08-28-2005, 02:50 AM I'm not a big fan of swiveling barstools (not for the home anyway). Don't know why.
Target.com RULES.
i have a wishlist that I'm going to be sending out with my housewarming invitations, when I move. haha.
Here, come eat chips and salsa... AND BUY ME A TABLE. haha
we're not using it as a bar, it's the new table. the table will live outside for bbqs and the like.
murgle 08-28-2005, 02:55 AM So wait. You're not going to have a dining room table at all? Just use the bar/counter for meals and such?
What if you have people over for dinner (and not like a bbq-dinner) ?
I need a dining room table. Hah. The new apartment actually HAS a fucking dining room. Go figure. haha
yes.
and we neeeever have people over (if any, it's like.. one.. we'll ahve three or four barstools). if we do, i'm sure we can bring in the table and put a cloth on it. but i really don't forsee that as a problem
all the table did in our other place was hoard all the crap we put on it when we came home. it was just a place to leave stuff.
murgle 08-28-2005, 03:06 AM Yeah, I understand.
That's the one reason I'm a little worried about getting a dining room table... it's another place for stuff to accumulate
BUT, It'd be nice to be able to have people over. I've had people over here about... hmm.. Dunno... 6-10 times, (not counting the boyfriend) which doesn't sound like a lot for a whole year, but all those times, we had to sit on the floor and eat at the coffee table.
Also, it's easier to write (homework, bills, etc) on a dining-room table vs. a coffee table. I can spread out and put all my books and stuff on there when writing papers and crap.
we're gunna get some of those cube ottoman/chair things so we can sit around the coffee table!

My mom has something like that. A giant black, leather ottoman is her "coffee table." I like it, it works well. I couldn't do that at my place (because I can't afford a giant leather ottoman but also) because I do most of my work on the coffee table, so I need a hard surface.
