prolly been brought up, but not on my watch.

even if the pumpkins were *******d, my favorite album would be in utero by nirvana. just a great album, catches them a bit raw but has some great mellow jams too. better than nevermind in my opinion.

this is tough call but I'd have to say The Afghan Whigs "Gentlemen" with Sonic Youth's "Goo" a close second.

This thread has the word "pumpkin" in the title and is therefore off-topic. Please correct this situation by midnight tonight (Eastern Time), or you will turn into a pumpkin.

well i'm just pointing out the fact that a lot of the users here are hopelessly narrowminded when it comes to music.

four best albums of the 90's :

nevermind, superunknown, siamese dream and vitalogy

there was actually more going on as well.

I have to reply once more because everyone seems to forget (or they just don't know), The Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen. To leave this out for Hole and Blink 182 has got to be a joke, right? Why not congratulate great musical talent and superb songwriting over immature musings and drunken noise.

the good grunge and brit pop could hardly be described as immature musings and drunken noice imo. like blur, radiohead, suede or nirvana.

i said it's what the 90's were about, not what i was listening to well I'm sorry but if you have this opinion you obviously were only listening to the mainstream because there was much much more going on then grunge and britpop. You are on a Pumpkins site do they fit these categories? what about Fugazi, Paul Westerberg, Sonic Youth, Pavement, Ween, Jawbreaker, Buffalo Tom and countless others.

this is kind of strange, because schaadow orignially wrote that afghan wigs should be considered as a band that made one of the best albums of the 90's. then you replied "90's music was about druncen noice and immature musings", thus inferring that this was something you personally liked. later you write that you don't like it at all. i don't get it.

the posts are slightly different.

anyway i like a bit of no concentration drunken noise now and then but i have hugely varied tasts in music. the point i was clumsily trying to make was that for the majority of people in the early to mid 90's 'alternative' music was all confused lyrics and fuzzy guitars, not that anything of that description would necessarily be my fav album of the 90's. understand me?

I got you, and I agree. Most people (present and past) take whats given to them and don't look for something maybe more original - this is why Creed sold so many records (and maybe why Nirvana did too). And I love a little drunken chaos too, Don't we all?
